According to Chirag Yojana, only students from very poor background will be given financial assistance to study in private schools. Under this scheme, the government will provide basic facilities on behalf of such poor students and in this way the children of government schools will get an opportunity to study in private schools for free.
The annual income of the family is less than Rs 1.80 lakh. They are eligible to get the benefit of Chirag Yojana. In the initial phase under the scheme, the government has planned to cover around 25,000 students under the scheme, who will be from class 2 to class 12.
To start this lamp scheme, the government has abolished rule 134A. The government also intends to allow low-income children to study in private schools for free. The government has already worked with private schools in Haryana and many private schools have already given their consent to accept new admissions under the scheme. According to the ministry, he says that he had pledged to provide free education to poor children in private schools and he fulfilled his commitment by starting this scheme.
Students of government schools will be eligible under Chirag Yojana. The date of admission has been fixed by the directorate as July 21. For the benefit of the students the higher officials have extended the admission deadline.

Chirag Yojana Objectives
By launching the Chirag Haryana initiative, the Haryana government intends to provide free private school education to children from low-income families. Under this scheme, students of class II to XII will be allowed to transfer from government schools to private schools free of cost. Only those children who are willing to go to private schools in the state of Haryana are eligible to apply for this program.

Chirag Yojana Haryana Eligibility
To apply for the scheme, the student must fulfill the following conditions:
- He should be a resident of Haryana.
- The annual family income of the student should be less than Rs 1,80,000.
- Only students who are academically excellent and pass consistently in each section will be eligible for the benefits of Haryana Chirag Yojana.
- The students of Haryana state will be able to participate in private schools starting from class II and continuing till class XII.

Following is the list of paperwork required for Chirag scheme:
- A certificate is required to move from the public school system to the private system.
- Official photo identity card of the student.
- Family certificate certifying their income (father or mother).
How to get admission in a school under Chirag Yojana?
To apply to Chirag Yojana School, students are required to have the documents specified above.
- Admission is restricted to that private school whose name is mentioned on the instructions in Form 6.
- If the student is suggested by his/her previous school, admission can be granted only if they update their information on the DataMist portal.
How many students is the government planning to take under this scheme?
As we all know, Haryana Army and Government cannot enroll all students in the programme; Therefore, they have established certain criteria. The government has prescribed a set of numbers for each category as part of the system.
The maximum number of students who can join the Chirag scheme is 25,000.
- It has been fixed for only 2370 students for class II.
- For 3rd grade it is 2411.
- 2443 admissions are fixed for the fourth class.
- For class 5th it is 2384.
- For class 6th, it is 2413.
- For class 7th it is 2400.
- For class 8th, it is 2383.
- For class 9th, it is 2211.
- For class 10th, it is 2174.
- For class 11th, it is 1858.
- For class 12th, it is 1940.
