The Haryana government has recently announced big relief for the farmers of the state. A loan waiver scheme has been launched for eligible farmers. Under this scheme, interest and penalties are being waived off from the loans of farmers. This decision has been taken to ease the lives of farmers and promote the agriculture sector in the state.

In an important announcement of the budget in the interest of ‘Annadata’, the Chief Minister said that loans are provided to the farmers through Primary Agricultural Credit Committee (PACS). There is a provision in the budget that if the farmer had taken a crop loan by 30 September 2023 and the principal amount is paid by 31 May 2024, and the farmer is registered on MFMB (Meri Fasal, Mera Byora Portal), then the interest and penalty Will be forgiven.
Thereafter, farmers will be eligible to avail crop loan from PACS during Kharif season 2024. The number of farmers availing crop loan from PACS is around 5,43,900, principal amount is Rs 2140 crore and interest and penalty is Rs 1739 crore.

The main objective of starting this scheme by the Haryana government is to provide relief to the farmers from interest and penalty charged on loans. As we know that due to interest and penalty on agriculture related loans, farmers are unable to repay their loans, keeping in view this problem of farmers, Haryana Kisan Loan Interest Waiver Scheme has been started.
Under this scheme, all the farmers who have taken loan till September 2023 can deposit the loan taken by 31st March 2024. After this, their farmers will get the opportunity to take loan again. It has been seen many times that due to weak economic condition, many are not able to repay their loans on time due to increase in interest rates and they have to pay penalty along with interest. But now all the farmers of Haryana can easily repay their loans without worrying about interest and penalty.
How to check Haryana farmer loan waiver list
- If you are also among those farmers who are waiting to get their interest and penalty waived off, then check your name in the farmer loan waiver list and know whether your loan interest and penalty will be waived off or not.
- Visit the official “Meri Fasal, Mera Byora” portal whose official link is https://fasal.haryana.gov.in.
- Find “Farmer Search” option and click on it as given below.
- Enter your registered mobile number or other required details.
- Find your name in the list. If your name is included in the list, it means that you are eligible for the loan waiver scheme.

Eligibility for Haryana Farmer Loan Interest Waiver Scheme
To avail the benefits of this scheme you have to fulfill the following eligibility.
- It is mandatory for the applicant to be a farmer of Haryana state.
- Under this scheme, only those farmers will be able to avail benefits, who have taken loan till 30 September 2023.
- Under this scheme, farmers of all castes of Haryana will be eligible to waive interest and penalty on the loans taken by them.
- Farmers of Haryana who are working in government service or availing government pension will not be considered eligible for this scheme.
