The state government reports “Haryana Rooftop Plant Subsidy Scheme” and applications are invited through online mode. The objective of this Haryana Rooftop Solar Plant Scheme is to motivate people to choose green energy. The Department of Renewable Energy is in charge of formulating necessary policies and programs for renewable sources of energy in the state. Haryana Rooftop Solar Plant Subsidy Scheme aims to promote green building design for efficient use of energy in residential, commercial and industrial sector.
To increase the efficiency of solar energy for energy security, installation of Haryana Rooftop Solar Plant Scheme in certain category of buildings in Haryana is mandatory. Haryana Rooftop Solar Plant Subsidy Scheme aims to add 3,000 MW grid-attached solar power generation by 2017 and 20,000 MW by the year 2022. The annual insolation potential in the state is 4.6 kW/m-2. The objective of the forecast is to fight the issue of climate change and inspire to develop green vitality.

Who will get Rs 50,000?
- Those families who have applied under Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana.
- Average monthly power consumption is up to 200 units.
- Family Identity Card (PPP) with annual income less than ₹1.80 lakh.
- Along with the grant of ₹60,000 already available by the Central Government, the Haryana Government will provide additional financial assistance of up to ₹50,000 to one lakh such poor families for installation of solar rooftop up to 2 kW.

- The objective of this scheme in conjunction with Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana is to provide financial assistance to poor families in adopting solar energy.
- The subsidy scheme for solar roofs aims to benefit about 1 lakh families in Haryana by providing additional financial assistance of ₹50,000, in addition to the existing subsidy of up to ₹78,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Yojana.
- The application process for the ₹50,000 assistance scheme has not been announced yet as the scheme is still in the announcement stage. Details regarding online or offline application processes have not been disclosed yet.
