HP Rajiv Gandhi Prakritik Kheti Start Up Yojana 2024

Himachal Government has recently announced “Rajiv Gandhi Natural Farming Startup Scheme” in an important step in the budget.

Through this new scheme, unemployed youth can get financial assistance by getting involved in high value natural farming. The main objective of this scheme is to promote natural farming in the state.

Rajiv Gandhi Natural Farming Start-up Scheme – Key Components

• Phased implementation: The scheme will be implemented in a phased manner, initially 10 farmers per panchayat will be targeted to adopt natural farming techniques. These farmers will be encouraged to replace chemical fertilizers and pesticides with organic alternatives like cow dung and bio-fertilizers.
• Assured procurement at MSP: To reduce the risk to farmers adopting natural farming, the government will guarantee procurement of naturally grown grains at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). It provides financial security to farmers and encourages widespread adoption of sustainable farming practices.
• Youth Empowerment: This scheme recognizes the potential of unemployed youth and aims to create entrepreneurial opportunities in the natural farming sector. The government will facilitate procurement of naturally grown produce from young entrepreneurs, thereby fostering a new generation of agri-businesses.

• Loan Facility: Under the scheme, a maximum loan of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to the beneficiaries of the scheme at an interest rate of 4% per annum.
• Training and Support: Beneficiaries will also get the opportunity for training and technical assistance on natural farming.
• Marketing Assistance: Under the scheme, marketing assistance of farming related products will also be provided.

Rajiv Gandhi Natural Farming Start-up Scheme Eligibility

• Must be a permanent resident of Himachal.
• Age should be between 18 to 40 years.
• Must have at least 10th pass.
• Must have some experience in agriculture.
